Los Angeles Alumnae take a cooking class

On Saturday, April 21st, the Los Angeles Alumnae Chapter of Phi Mu hosted a cooking class featuring Marlene Bernstein of Maiden Kitchen (www.maidenkitchen.com).  A great time was had by all as we learned how to make Thai Spring Rolls, Mango Salad, Mango Slaw and Vegetable Curry.  Not that we are only about food....but stayed tuned for information about our annual "Potluck at the Getty" and "Wine Tasting" events to be held later this year.

Our first event of 2011

Come meet SoCal Phi Mu sisters at our first happy hour of 2011 at Salt Creek Grill in El Segundo on Friday, February 25th, from 5 - 7pm.  Whether you're an active member of an alumnae group, new to the area, or just haven't had a chance to get out and mingle lately, this is your chance to unwind after the workweek, meet fellow Phi Mus, and network with your sisters.

No need to RSVP, just show up! We’ll be at Fire Pit #2. Look for the lovely ladies wearing Phi Mu pins and having fun!

Annual Wine Tasting Coming Soon

Join us for our 7th Annual Los Angeles Alumnae of Phi Mu Wine Tasting/Silent Auction on Saturday October 23rd from 7-10pm. This year’s event features a new wine partner, Vin Verite, and a revamped silent auction to support our Children’s Miracle Network philanthropy efforts aligned with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Vin Verite’s wine enthusiast and collector, Perry Powell, will be presenting “Wine regions you don’t know, but should…” with 8 wines including sparkling, white, red and dessert wines from France, Spain, Argentina and New Zealand.


Bring several friends, have fun networking with other Southern California Phi Mu sisters, enjoy tasting great wines paired with food and shop early for the holidays as you participate in the various silent auctions to support our annual Children's Miracle Network(CMN) philanthropy. There is something for everyone!

In addition join the Los Angeles Alumnae Chapter as we walk to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network with the 2010 Torch Relay. If you went last year, come on out again, and if you didn’t make it – try it, you’ll like it!

Event Type: Kid's Dash/5k Walk/5k Beach Fun Run/Cycling
Registration Time: 7:30 am
Event Location: Miramar Park/Redondo Beach, 201 Paseo de la Playa

We will be walking the strand from Torrance Beach/Miramar Park to the Redondo Pier and back. Festivities begin with the Miracle Village, a 5K run, followed by the Kids Dash and then the 5K walk. In addition there will be a Cycling event.

Entrance fees are $15 (walk), $25 (run) and $40 (cycling). Kids under 12 are free.
